Sarah Miles hit a grand slam home run over the left field fence and Irvine went on to cruise past University 12-1 in the second round of league play.  Megan Brophy pitched 7 innings allowing only 1 run.  The Vaqueros are now 3-3 in league play and take on CDM and Northwood this coming week.

Irvine Softball Opened League play with a 9-1 Victory over University.  Megan Brophy allowed 1 run on 5 hits.  Irvine's offense was led by Bria Madrid (3 for 4 with 3 runs scored), Jasmine Jenkins (1 for 3 with 2 RBI's), Brittney Vansway (2 for 3 with 4 RBI's) and Linnea Donahugh (2 for 2 with 3 runs scored)

In the second game Irvine dominated Corona Del Mar 14-1.  Carlie Chaulsett-Utley pitched and allowed 1 run and 5 hits.  Irvine's offense was led by Brittney Vansway (5 for 5 with 4 RBI's), Bria Madrid (3 for 4, 3 Runs), Tori Duquette (2 for 4) and Linnea Donahugh (2 for 4).

Irvine Softball split a pair of games this past weekend in the Northwood Tournament.  In the first game Irvine Lost to Huntington Beach 8-3.  Jasmine Jenkins led the way for the vaqueros going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI.  In the second game Irvine beat Laguna Hills 8-1 behind a solid pitching performance by Senior Megan Brophy.  McRae Cayton drove in 3 RBI's for Irvine.  

Irvine received a solid pitching performance from Carlie Chaulsett-Utley and ended its 4 game losing streak with an 8-3 win over JSerra.  Tori Duquette led the way going 2 for 4 with a triple and 2RBI.

Irvine Softball won its first two games in the Cypress Tournament.  In the first game Carlie Chaulsett-Utley pitched a complete game giving up 2 runs.  Brittney Vansway picked up where she left off last season with a home run and Sarah Miles had 4 RBI's in a 9-2 Victory over St Joseph's Lakewood.  In the second Game Megan Brophy allowed 1 Earned Run and also pitched a complete game.  McRae Cayton had a home run and Linnea Donahugh drove in the game winning run with 2 outs in the last inning in a 3-2 Victory over Gahr.

Off seasons softball begins Nov14th.  The girls will need the following items each day of practice:

1) Practice T-shirt
2) Grey softball Pants (available at local sports retailer)
3) Cleats
4) Running Shoes
5) Glove
6) Bat (optional)
7) A good attitude :)
